Anubhav Singh Bassi is back with his newest  stand-up comedy view – Roommate. This 23-minute video is a laughter-blaster, wherein he reminisces his college days with his roommate. From making tea to smoke rings, and drinking tea to alcohol, Bassi recounts all those events.

However, one event was so special that he decided to comprehensively narrate it.

It was a regular day. Two boys from Meerut, Anubhav and Sam, were leading a normal life as friends and roommates. A life filled with fun, booze and cigs.

Until one day.

A regular college day turned into a memory for life, when his roommate’s father lands up unannounced and sees & hears what he shouldn’t have.

‘Roommate’ revives storytelling magic that Bassi holds. The attempt to bring his ‘buddy’ out from the bathroom, the eagerness to see him getting beaten up and the realisation of how mistake is a concept that’s different to each.

And finally having his anxiousness calmed.

Want to know how?  Watch Anubhav Bassi’s ‘Roommate’ here:

Here’s what we loved!

  • Staying updated like

  • Strategising like a friend

  • Fading lines between right and wrong

Galat Career Chun Liya by Mohd Suhel is unmissable, but here’s the thing…it might hurt your religious sentiments, if any.

Suhel starts off by announcing his career finding criteria:

First, don’t die.
Second, don’t get arrested.

Fair Enough!

Galat Career Chun Liya_Mohd Suhel_Humour Sapiens

He further talks about becoming a superhero, and how a career in the army closely resonates with superheroes. But…Criterion 1 comes into play.

Next comes up Engineering, and Criterion 1 comes into the picture even before concluding it.

He finally zeros down on becoming a doctor. Here’s why:

However, quickly changes his stance. Watch the video to know why!

He then chooses a career in stand-up comedy. Easy peasy.

Just stand on the stage and narrate jokes. At least he won’t get killed, or arrested…or so he thought. But, alas, again, galat career chun liya! Wanna know why? He shares the secret in the video.

The only option that he’s now left with is to be a Housewife. Know why he decided to opt out of this career option as well.

This compendious stand-up comic, Neetu Bhardwaj has come up with her video ‘Feminism, Sati Aur Nange Log’. Fresh, hilarious and echoes our thoughts, but in a way unmatched. She takes the room from silence to roaring laughter moments after stepping on stage. Wisecracking effectively in Hindi, Neetu drops truth bombs guised as jokes. The video begins with a Cheenti-Haathi joke, the grownup version, followed by instances of introversion, feminism, sati and suicide.

Bonne Bouches from the video:

Introverts have been following social distancing since forever.

Neetu Bhardwaj_Humour Sapiens_1

We support Fries over Guys kinda feminism only.

Neetu Bhardwaj_Humour Sapiens_2

Has happened to the best of us.

Neetu Bhardwaj_Humour Sapiens_3

In her video – Feminism, Sati Aur Nange Log, Neetu Bhardwaj also explains the difference between ‘Sati’ and ‘Jauhar’ girls, moving on to telling us why she prefers being classist but not casteist.

Though Neetu Bhardwaj presents herself on stage with a poker-faced expression, but her content graced the faces of audience with a bout of hyperventilated laughter. We’d love to see her interacting with audience, for we feel that is going be a laugh riot!

Stand-up comedy has gotten really popular in India in the last few years, and the shooting demand for stand-up comedy is followed by the (much-needed) reaction videos (just because, the comments in the YouTube section aren’t enough).

Reaction video involves YouTube enthusiasts watching a stand-up comedy clip, laughing and adding their own tags to the video. The reactions, sometimes, are as funnier as the video.

This article will feature the review of Kenny Sebastian’s comedy video by Jaby Koay, an American YouTuber, and his two friends. While Kenny Sebastian jokes about politics in India and how he loves making goon jokes, Koay and friends laugh out loud.

Jaby Koay is an American YouTuber, best-known for uploading reactions, vlogs, pranks and challenge videos. He loves and reviews Indian content on his channel all the time. At the moment, he has earned more than 1.51M subscribers on his YouTube channel.

Watch the reaction here.

The Desi Tyrion Lannister aka Stand-up comic Pronoy Chowdury is a big name in the making. He hails from Assam and has made Bangalore his new home. A medical writer by the day, he is a comedian at all times. Pronoy is short but not short of humour. Apart from being a performer, he as well likes to writer humorous stuff to keep himself satiated. He has been doing comedy for a while now and performed with Jaspreet Singh, Nishant Tanwar, Jeeveshu Ahluwalia, Harsh Gujaral and the likes. You can catch him live on most of the open mics in Bangalore.

Pronoy is amongst the few comics from the Northeast and was recently reminded of his origin by the CAA/NRC fiasco. And that’s precisely what triggered him to out his new video – CAA, NRC and Assam.

Highlights of the video:

  • Talks about how the northeast never gets covered in the news and when this CAA/NRC fiasco gave them some limelight, the attention seekers of Delhi couldn’t bear it and took it all away with their protests.
  • Jokes about how he would be tagged as an illegal immigrant if his family got to know about him taking a dig on this serious issue
  • Adds that he’s pretty happy with the way govt is working for them and making new homes – called Detention Centres
  • Nevertheless, there’s someone he can completely rely on – who won’t ever abandon him. Want to know who? Watch his video!

Packed with dotes and anecdotes, and funny self-induced slurs, Pronoy has done a great job.

Anshu Mor is out with his newest video 1972 – tab theek tha. This video is all about trying to explain 2019 to someone from 1972, especially making them understand the passion comedy, start-ups, social media and stuff.

He starts with getting himself teleported to 1972, when he was just a foetus and describes how his parents must have felt had he suddenly landed as a full-grown man in that year. Anshu talks about passion – which is something you do when you find the grass greener on the other side. He mentions how the achievements these days are mostly about coming up with new Instagram filters.

Anshu ends with a very strong message of respecting your parents. Respecting, not by creating a facebook account for them; by not getting them on facebook. Respect them, but offline!

Highlights of the video:

  • When mom has an Ekta Kapoor show moment for a second.

Anshu Mor: Humour Sapiens

  • We came out with 2 new dog filters.

Anshu Mor: Humour Sapiens

  • Mom vs Me/We

Anshu Mor: Humour Sapiens

There are more funny instances from his life, such as his father treating facebook like a family whatsapp group, and his mother finding a bizarre way to include herself in his facebook conversations.

Check out the complete 1972 video and see the magic Anshu Mor once again weaves magic!

Amazon Prime Video | 1 hr 1 min

Hop on & Seat belt on, because…Nishant Tanwar is back with his new special ‘Gaadi Tera Bhai Chalayega’. This Hinglish special from Nishant is a face to face with reality. He talks about weddings; his China visit as a third wheel and his corporate stint. He establishes a pattern with the first shot of the special when he comes up on stage and totally owns it.

Outlandish Addiction

Nishant spends a considerable time telling how he is addicted to attending weddings and so begins the tale. He gets to attend a cousin’s wedding, deals with a couple of relatives who still are not able to wrap their head around the fact that stand-up comedy is a serious business. The horrid turn of events doesn’t end there. He narrates how he made his cousin wear a ‘lungi’ with a tux, and how he had to do third wheeling on his cousin’s honeymoon. He details his China and Dubai visit, the food, the orgasmic feel you have when you meet a fellow Indian or mere Hindi-speaking person abroad, the dessert safari and the real-belly-dancing experience he had.

The Times of Corporate

A lot of his material revolves around his experiences from his corporate stint, and how his boss considered him for not thinking out of the boss. He subtly explains the thin line between buttering and ass-licking, and how these traits can help you get good increments. His tale of adversity is a confessional style of storytelling, wherein he gets laughs almost matter-of-factly. This bit was where Tanwar was the brightest. He effortlessly motivates while describing how doing comedy costed him his job. He, at the same time, doesn’t make us feel bad for laughing at these incidents.

In his last bit, he describes meeting his former boss who laid him off a few years ago, and then comes the high point of the special, when he gives it back to his ex-boss that Tanwar’s time is more valuable now!

Though, Gaadi Tera Bhai Chalayega has a few moments where it falters and the whole thing takes a while to get going, but you sure can overlook those. His tone and energy help support the material, till he drops the mic with a motivating message about steering your life your way!

He is seen driving off a BMW in the end, which sure gives us goose bumps. We are proud, Nishant!

Adesh Nichit, a 23-year-old stand-up comic who is an absolute cutie. We almost went ‘aww’ when he spoke, but after listening to his jokes, we were grinning ear to ear. Wondering when did he realise stand-up comedy was his calling? When his mark sheets started becoming funnier with each passing year. Though he doesn’t really have a style in particular, he depicts the daily life things (read: exaggerates) in the funniest way possible. He is known for his improv jokes right in the middle of his act. Adesh has been performing for over 3 years now and already has many accolades to his name. He won Comedy Mic events like IIT Rendezvous and has been hosting shows for Canvas Laugh Club.

In his recent video, Parent’s Expectations, Adesh talks about how parents do something because they have to and then expect us to be obligated for it. He mentions how giving him food, clothes and education is really appreciable, but wasn’t required.

Now his concern is that his parents expect that he reciprocates by getting them good clothes and taking them to nice places. But what they should understand is, it should then be applicable to all the things they did for him as a child – including waking him up at 6 am.

Adesh further adds that once he was punished for stealing 2 rupees by having to stay locked up in his room, without internet. Now he gets punished when parents don’t lock him up, they ask him to sit in front of him. Now that’s the real Punishment! Watch this video to know the kind of tactics he uses to keep his father from checking his phone.

He also reminds how the stories when we were kids were so cute, Dogs and Goats were friends in those.

Kutta aur Bakri baat kar rahe hain…

Bakri: Ek number ka kutta hai tu, apni shaadi mein bhi nahi bulaya.

Kutta: Yaar mai toh bulane wala tha, but meri wife kitni badi Bitch hai.

The funniest bit was when he aptly mentioned how parents these days are so arrogant that they join their names to name their kid. As in, what have you achieved in life after all, that you decided to screw that poor kid’s name and life together. God save him from getting bullied all his life.

There is more to it than just this. Check out the complete video here:

Azeem Banatwalla recently came up with his newest video ‘Man vs Fridge’ and it is nothing but Truth. He explains why every fridge in the world is always full, even Ambani’s.

He starts off with sharing his latest learnings which can prove to be really helpful in your day to day life, such as DAFUQ, IDGAF, etc are internet abbreviations and apparently not some Muslim names. Insightful, isn’t it?

Azeem then moves ahead and shares the rules that people living in Bandra have to follow, and the pressure it brings with it. Jogging regularly and shopping at Nature’s Basket are the essentials if you don’t want t get thrown out of Bandra. The reason why he follows those strict rules is because Bandra is a cool place and it has lots of bakeries Patisseries. It’s like a bakery version of Shashi Tharoor. He highlights how these patisseries have unnecessarily creative yet threatening names, sinful chocolate, devil’s moose, and the likes.

It’s like chocolate is the new tobacco. Soon you’ll see Rahul Dravid in chocolate ads urging people to quit, otherwise you know what happened to Mukesh – Death by chocolate.

Azeem also shares his plight of managing a fridge and how he plays tetris every night trying to fit things in the fridge. But the crux of the matter is, no matter how big a fridge you have, you will always lack space to store things.

While this is a fact, there’s another fact that he makes us aware of…our incapability and unwillingness to throw away the stuff we get from Dominoes, be it oregano,  chili flakes or tissue paper. All kept safely in the second shelf of the fridge, beside expired sauces. How fridging awesome!

You cannot just miss this video. Every second of it will leave you grinning and wondering how does this man do it. Smooth deliveries bowled us over and left us wanting for more!

Latest attempt from the house of Amazon is One Mic Stand which is a 5-episode stand-up comedy series featuring celebrities and comedians.

Featuring: Shashi Tharoor, Bhuvan Bam, Taapsee Pannu, Richa Chadha, Vishal Dadlani, Zakir Khan, Kunal Kamra, Angad Singh Ranyal, Rohan Joshi, Ashish Shakya and Sapan Verma.

The main attractions of this show weren’t really Taapsee Pannu, Richa Chadha, Bhuvan Bam or Vishal Dadlani but our very own fountain of English, Shashi Tharoor. With his sharp act and a mind blowing display of wit, he outperforms the professional comics we have. With his well-written set and smooth deliveries, the risk he took of entering a comedy club in Noida was quite a success.

Who says taking risks is always bad?

So, the concept of the show is, in every episode, a professional comic opens the show, followed by a preparation video – more like ‘behind the scenes’ wherein they talk mentor the celeb and talk about the art of comedy. Post which, the celeb performs in front of a live audience that seems to heartily enjoy the gigs.

All 5 episodes are independent of each other. Start with whichever you like. If you ask us, we’d say, cut to the 5th episode. The politician-comedian team was a blast!

Here’s a sneak peak of One Mic Stand:

The other episodes would sure put a smile on your face or even make you grin, but don’t expect a LOL moment.
