]]>This stand-up comedian has guts! And he does it with the touch of humour in it. His first act itself drew both compliments and criticism from the people. Aptly titled, ‘Patriotism and the Government’, he speaks about how for every shortcomings of the Government, the answer seems to be ‘Hamare Jawan siachen mein lad rahe hain’ (Our jawans are fighting in Siachen). His performance is what makes it worthy of even watching it a thousand times!
Fondly called as Gupta Ji, his take on simple and common topic like Maggi and Tea has made him extremely likeable. Most of his acts are in Hindi and he elicits a lot of laughter every time he is on stage with his satirical remarks. His most famous work has to be his take on Life as an Engineer, he is an Engineer after all and you find the best humour from your own experiences.
He seems to have a special ‘connection’ with the Prime Minister, because every time he is on stage, he does not forget to talk about his favourite person…Modi! Since demonetization, this comedian from West Bengal, has not left any chance to praise him, but at the same time, even ridicule him. He does both so lovingly, bringing out the ‘mishti’ undertone of a Bengali sarcasm. What is funnier is that we can relate to his thoughts and opinions, as we too would have thought about the exact same things at some point of time. It is like he is reading our minds!
This firebrand of a performer from Amritsar has a cool outlook towards everything in life. He is the ‘funny’ voice of the youth of our country. Right from parental pressure to even horror movies – he has explored every genre that is a part of everyday life and his way of telling jokes is through story-telling. Engaging and outrageously hilarious at the same time.
He’s the quintessential married man and his jokes are mostly based out of his own experience as a ‘traumatized husband’. His take on shopping as a married man or as a middle-aged man living in the age of Facebook is what everyone can relate to.
