Atul Khatri: CEO to Comedian

There have been many instances where you would have cracked jokes on your boss. But, have you ever thought that your boss to could have a good sense of humour? Well, this particular person, the CEO of his company, is funnier than a lot of people that we know. We are talking about none other than Atul Khatri!

CEO’s Got Talent

First discovered through the show CEO’s Got Talent, which was aired on CNBC-TV18, Atul Khatri bagged the title. Also, he was also one of the 3 finalists at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival held in Delhi in 2012.

BECOMING A PART OF EAST INDIA COMEDY

He soon became a part of the East India Comedy and with that, his popularity just increased. One of the ‘oldest’ stand-up comedians in India today, he fits right in with the young guys in the group, and does not mind when the latter make fun of his age and takes it in the right stride.

TROLLING SINDHIS

What we love about Atul Khatri though, are his solo performances. He just goes on delivering one gem of a performance to another that it is truly difficult to make up your mind on which was his best act till date. Being a Sindhi, he does not even shy away from making fun of himself or his community, and those jokes are particularly hilarious. The act in which he talks about his marriage and life after that, he goes on and says ‘We sindhis use talcum powder because deodorant is so costly and moreover, we mix it with flour and that will last for a year’ – absolutely crazy!

WHEN JUSTIN BIEBER CAME TO INDIA

The one we love the most though has to be the ‘Justin Bieber’ experience; by far, his best act till date for us. The way in which he explains how his daughters and wife got equally excited for the show, the shopping they did for that one concert, reaching early to the venue, the guards not allowing him to enter back with a plastic bottle; each and every detail to a T, will definitely make you cry out of laughter and fall off your seat. This is how every dad who paid and chauffeured their child to the concert would have felt.

DEMONETIZATION & TRUCKLOAD OF SANITARY NAPKINS

Atul’s way of stand-up is something unique; he takes his own experiences and gives it such hilarious twists, matched with his age, that it makes it completely relatable, where someone you know or you yourself would have gone through the same experience. One example would be his act on ‘Demonetization’ where he says, in a panic, his wife brought sanitary napkins that would last for generations together – might be an exaggeration, but I’m sure many of us would have done just that!

Atul Khatri just improves with every act of his and we just can’t wait to watch his next act and the next level of craziness that might come along with it!
